ABOUT THE OWNER
Edie Little is a proud mother of a 10-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old daughter. She was a fifth grade teacher for four years before taking a giant leap of faith and opening her own childcare facility. Before moving into her first commercial location, Edie operated her facility out of her home for 2 and a half years. Prior to working in the public school field, she was an assistant director for a major child care center. Edie graduated with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership in 2010.
From Edie: "Through my experience as a public school teacher, as an assistant director in the private child care sector and most importantly, as a mother, I have seen the importance of a solid foundation that is needed for children entering in to school. I know that success is built from well-developed routines, providing a safe environment, strong academic focus and a healthy, natural diet. Little Learners Preschool has been blessed with having access to some of the most amazing and progressive Early Childhood Education trainings, which has impacted each and every teacher we have at LLP. We understand how crucial children's growth and development is from birth to 5-years-old. During these early years, children learn to form healthy social, emotional and academic skills. We collectively take the responsibility of helping each child achieve emotional and academic success very seriously. I want to be, along with each parent, a driving force in the success of our little learners."
"Hello, I am Kristian, better known as Ms. Kris. I am 26 years old and I have been with Little Learners since November 2013. I first started out as a toddler teacher and I have worked my way up to Co-Director. I began working in childcare 8 years ago, right after I graduated high school. I have always had a passion for children as I babysat a lot when I was younger. I have worked with all ages, from newborn to school age, but I must admit school age has always been my jam. I have a strong belief that early education is the foundation for every child's academic success. Building emotional connections, assisting in the development of social skills and being able to get all the cuddles make my job the most rewarding. After over a year's worth of hard work and dedication I have received my Directors credentials, completed the Conscious Discipline course and completed hundreds of hours worth of training in early education. When I am not at LLP, you can find me spending time with my fiancé, Chris, and our son, Bradeyn. I love going on family vacations to the coast, reading a good book and being able to just take a nap. My goal is to make your families experience at Little Learners a rich one."
TODDLER TEACHER/ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
"Hello! My name is Mrs. Ashley! I have been working in childcare for 11 years and I have been with LLP for 3 years now. I obtained my director's license in 2014 and I am currently taking the Conscious Discipline course to broaden my teaching skills. I love each and every child here so much. It is such a joy getting to teach them on a day to day basis. I got married to my beautiful wife in 2016 after being together for 10 years. We have a baby girl named Sydney who will be one in March! We also have a fur baby name Sadie that loves going to the dog park and on walks. We love going to visit friends, traveling, and going on walks and hikes. I am so happy to be able to be a part of each child's development."
PRE-K TEACHER/ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
"Hi, I am Ms. Amber. I am 29 years old with a rambunctious 5 year old. I have been with Little Learners since November 2014. I originally started out as the early toddler teacher but I have been the Pre-K teacher for 3 years now. I have made some great friends at LLP that I now consider family. We really have a fantastic team. I have had extensive training in various childcare related topics. I have gone through and completed the CDA training course, TRS training, Frog Street curriculum training as well as Conscious Discipline training. I am currently in school to earn a degree in k-6 education. My goal is to become a science teacher. I enjoy learning new ways to help children become successful whether that be emotional regulation or academically. The way the children light up when they discover new things or learn a new task is what makes every bit of the job worth it. I am truly amazed at how fast children grow and develop in such a small amount of time. I take great pride in being apart of each child's growth. When I am not working, you can find me spending time with my son. We love creating art, playing with hot wheels, and building with Legos. My "grown up" hobbies include drawing, reading and learning new things."
"My name is Erika Wooldridge. I am the cook/floater at Little Learners. I have been in child care for four years. I have a seven year old son who is my everything! Before working in child care I worked in home health care. I was a caregiver for 8 years before I made the switch to childcare. I have truly enjoyed watching all the kiddos grow. I like watching football, listening to music, reading and spending time with my family. In the future I plan on going back to school to further my education and obtain a job in the medical field.
PRE-K ASSISTANT TEACHER
"Hello my name is Taylor James. I started working at LLP in November of last year. In high school, I went through a teachers program that allowed me to teach at an elementary school. I really enjoyed it! I am currently attending school to be a Neo natal nurse. Apart from working at Little Learners I also work for a babysitting company. When I am not working I love to write my own stories. I look forward to watching your little one grow!
EARLY TODDLER TEACHER
"Hello, my name is Loriee and I am 20 years old. I am the middle child of seven children. I have five sisters and one older brother. I started working at Little Learners back in November of 2018 so I am fairly new to the team. I have enjoyed spending time and getting to know all the children and families here at LLP. I worked in the food industry for four years before I started the transition into childcare. I had previously worked at a preschool in Katy, Tx and helped out at my grandmother's daycare as well. I plan on going to college to be an interpreter for the deaf. A few hobbies I enjoy outside of work include spending time with my family, reading and teaching sign language. I am excited to be a part of the LLP family!"
